UK’s Firework Champions 2023: Eastnor Castle edition

Sept. 26, 2023

Today SuperFireworks Co., Ltd. invites you to take an introductory tour of the beautiful English castle of Eastnor, where the fifth round of one of the main events in the world of fireworks in the UK - Firework Champions - took place on September 9, 2023!

Eastnor Castle is a 19th-century mock castle situated in a ceremonial county of Herefordshire in the West Midlands of England. Eastnor was built for John Cocks, 1st Earl Somers, who employed Robert Smirke, later the main architect of the British Museum. The estate was established in the late 16th century and during the next few centuries the owners were able to achieve the wealth and substance necessary to build the present imposing building, designed to look like one of the medieval castles guarding the Welsh borders. It was constructed between 1811 and 1820 at a cost of £85,000, the equivalent of approximately £27 million at 2007 prices.

There’s still an operating flour mill, one of the oldest in the county, built in the 18th century. The castle has been used as a set location for films, television programs and music videos; it also fulfills other roles as an exclusive-use wedding venue, corporate team building venue and private party venue.

On September 9th Eastnor Castle hosted one of the 2023 Firework Champions events during which three of the UK’s best firework companies competed against each other with a 10-minute spectacular firework display choreographed to music. Please enjoy the videos of firework displays of that beautiful night – Fusion Fireworks, Skydazzle Pyrotechnics and Pyrotex Fireworks (closing display) – and congratulations to Skydazzle Pyrotechnics team for winning the public vote.

Stay tuned and stay super with SuperFireworks Company!
