The Biggest Independence Day Fireworks in USA from NYC

July 11, 2023

On 4th of July, 2023 all cities and towns of the USA were celebrating the main federal holiday of the country – Independence Day. There are many customs associated with this national holiday, for instance, family barbecues or a "salute to the union" (a salute of one gun for each state in the United States, which is fired on Independence Day at noon by any capable military base). Still the most prominent tradition is launching fireworks, both by municipal services or business representatives or individual citizens. The largest fireworks display in the country is traditionally held in New York City, and for almost half a century is sponsored by an American department store chain Macy’s.

This year it has again proved to be the biggest fireworks display, when the NYC night sky gleamed in bright, mesmerizing colors for the spectacular Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks show. More than 60,000 shells exploded during the dazzling display over the East River for this year's "pyrotechnic salute to America."

The festivities began with live music at sundown followed by the 25-minute fireworks show synchronized to a spectacular score. This year's celebration honored trailblazers, including a signature moment that featured "The Best" by the late Tina Turner as thousands of golden-hued shells created a dramatic cascade effect stretching for more than a mile across the East River.
