Fukushima Fireworks Festival 2023

April 10, 2023

Many people associate fireworks festivals with the summer months in Japan, but there are plenty of events outside that timeframe as well. One of them is the Fukushima Fireworks Festival. This year it was held in the town of Shinchi on the 26th of March in collaboration with Yamanashi Prefecture’s Margaux Co., Ltd; this pyrotechnics company has recently won the “Prime Minister’s Award 2022”, the highest fireworks award in Japan.

The event itself run from 12 noon until 8.30pm, with around 10,000 fireworks launched between 6.30 to 7.30pm. We are glad to remind our readers that it wasn't the last spring pyrotechnic event in Japan as long as Sanriku Fireworks Festival is going to be held in Takata Matsubara Sports Park (Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture) on Sunday, April 30, 2023. The number of launches will exceed 15,000 with pyrotechnic producers and specialists from all over Japan competing against each other.
