July 21, 2022

July and August are prime time for vacations, festivals and celebrations of all sorts across Spain. The International Fireworks Competition in Blanes, Focs de Blanes, is one of the most memorable, loud and accessible among them in the Costa Brava.

If you don't want to miss out on it, make a date in your diary for July 22 to 26. For a few nights, fireworks will be the focal point of interest in Blanes for residents and visitors who want to enjoy the world's best displays as they compete for the Town of Blanes Trophy.

Rockets and firecrackers will be launched from Sa Palomera, a large rock that separates the two beaches of the town of Blanes. People will gather in large numbers along the shoreline, looking for somewhere to sit on the sand to enjoy the show.

Fireworks are a long-standing tradition in Blanes, with references to displays in the town dating back to 1891. The fireworks competition was first held in 1971 and has become firmly established over the years, attracting prestigious participants from all over the world and huge crowds: for instance, there were 250 000 people watching the final show of 2014 festival.

The team of SuperFireworks Co., Ltd. Is looking forward to the ongoing festival and will definitely share the photos and videos of what is going to be one of the most prominent fireworks competitions of the year. Stay tuned!
