Celebrating VE Day

May 7, 2022

On May 8, 1945, cities in Western Europe and the US, put out flags and banners, rejoicing in the defeat of the Nazi war machine during World War II. Since then, this historically important to Europeans day is celebrated as V-E Day (which stands for Victory in Europe day).

In France, “jour de la Victoire en Europe” is a Patriotic public holiday. Germany calls it “Tag der Befreiung" (Day of Liberation) to celebrate liberation from the Nazi government and Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich. May 8th is observed but it’s not a public holiday in the US, because after the surrender of Germany, the war continued in the Pacific for another 4 months. The Festival of Joy is an Austrian event held in honor of VE Day. 8 May is known in Poland as "Narodowy Dzień Zwycięstwa" (National Victory Day). The United Kingdom celebrates Victory in Europe Day on 8 May as a national commemorative holiday.

SuperFireworks Co., Ltd. joins all the nations involved in the celebration of Victory Day. Let the festive fireworks lit up the skies of the cities and towns to make all of us proud of the bravery of our ancestors.
