Dear friends, our team at SuperFireworks Co., Ltd. continues to share the latest news of the world of fireworks and pyrotechnics. Due to COVID-19 pandemic many huge and small fireworks events all across the globe were cancelled in 2020 and 2021. But this year as the situation gets better we are hopefully awaiting many of the fests to restore in their blaze and glory.
The Ministry for Tourism and the Malta Tourism Authority has announced the 21st edition of the Malta International Fireworks Festival would be taking place on seven nights between Sunday 17th April and Saturday 30th April 2022. Each night promises to be a beautiful display of colour and coordination, and the closing night is bound to be a true spectacle.
Fireworks in Malta have a long tradition which is centuries old. Indeed the craft of pyrotechnics in Malta goes back to the time of the Order of the Knights of St John. The Order used to celebrate the most important feasts by special pyrotechnic displays. Such firework displays were an expression of rejoicing on special occasions, such as the election of a Grand Master or a Pope, as well as on the birth of a prince.
This centuries-old tradition is still very much alive in the crowded calendar of village fests that take place all over Malta and Gozo. Were you to fly to Malta any time between June and mid-September you will be surprised to find that firework displays is taking place practically every weekend starting on Friday.
The upcoming festival also has a competitive edge! Each year, the festival hosts a Pyromusical competition, which means that the fireworks are designed to match the rhythm of a musical number! Awards are then distributed to the most impressive displays.
Our team at SuperFireworks Co., Ltd. joins the fireworks fans all over the world in anticipation for the Malta International Fireworks Festival of 2022!
Stay tuned!
