Dear friends, we all agree that pyrotechnics is The Art in the truest sense of the word, and it cannot be reduced to fireworks manufacturing technologies and the development of safety standards. There are many examples that show how fireworks becomes an integral part, and sometimes even the central theme of works of art. We decided to pay tribute to this fact and experience such examples together with you.
The creative team of SuperFireworks Co., Ltd. announces a series of news items "The Art of Fireworks and Fireworks in Art". In each issue of this series, we will bring to your attention examples from various forms of art - should it be literature or musical works, theatre or cinema, painting or architecture - where pyrotechnics was mentioned or used.
Let’s enjoy our journey into the world of Fireworks Art with SuperFireworks Co., Ltd.!

Cinematography: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
Gandalf's visit to Hobbiton includes a fireworks-related treat, and even the untimely launch of the dragon fireworks by Merry and Pippin did not dampen the spectacle!

Painting: Konstantin Somov, Fireworks in the Park (1907)
Although the Russian painter and graphic artist Konstantin Somov studied under the great Ilya Repin, he preferred the style of Watteau and Fragonard. One of his favorite trends in painting was a gallant 18th-century-style landscape. It was a reconstructed world of rococo, costumed balls, artificial flowers, fragile porcelain figurines, and expensive silks. This world, emerging from the fog, required a special technique: translucent watercolor, pale pastel and gouache.

Literature: Alex Michaelides, The Silent Patient (2019)
The debut novel by British–Cypriot author Alex Michaelides tells the story of criminal psychotherapist Theo Faber as he tries to understand why his patient, a well-known artist, once shot her husband five times in the face and hasn't said a word since.
According to the author, the Athenian tragedy Alcestis, by Euripides, served as an inspiration for the plot, while its narrative structure was influenced by Agatha Christie's writing.
“About fireworks?
About love. About how we often mistake love for fireworks - for drama and dysfunction. But real love is very quiet, very still. It's boring, if seen from the perspective of high drama. Love is deep and calm - and constant. I imagine you do give Kathy love - in the true sense of the word. Whether or not she is capable of giving it back to you is another question.”
